HOW CAN YOU BECOME A PADI INSTRUCTOR?

The Instructor Development Course (IDC) consists of two parts: the Assistant Instructor (AI) course and the Open Water Diving Instructor (OWSI) program. Most dive professionals complete the IDC and then take the Instructor Exam (IE), which is the final step toward PADI Instructor certification.

Only successfully completing the Assistant Instructor (AI) course will earn you the PADI Assistant Instructor designation. Once an AI is ready, they can then join the OWSI program to take the Instructor Exam (IE) and become a full PADI Instructor.
